About Me, the Christian Mom

My name is Anne and I’m a 30-something wife and mother of a 2 year old girl, a 4 month old baby boy, and a 5 year old French Bulldog.  I grew up in Seattle but attended college in Boston and several years later met my husband while working in Chicago.  We moved back to Seattle a few years ago and settled just north of downtown.  I love Jesus and I love my family.  I love my Church and His Body.  I also love Indian food and champagne, but that is neither here nor there.

At this point, a lot of people would go into detail about their story – family of origin, childhood, education, professional successes, emotional wounds they’ve endured.  But this isn’t about me.  I’m writing this blog to explore what the Bible says about how we should view modern day politics and what role a Christian should play in engaging our culture.  Sure, there will be times when I discuss an “open-handed” issue and share my thoughts on it.  But ultimately, what I think or feel or say about something, doesn’t matter.  What’s important is what God thinks and feels and says in His Word.

I also want to demonstrate to my kids that the Bible is timeless and directs us in how to live our lives – which is so often discussed in politics today.  I believe God has given me a specific interest in this area and engaging others in the Conversation.  When I was in college, I had the great privilege to work in DC as an intern at the White House.  That experience only fueled my interest in politics and participating in the national dialogue.  I love to write and am so excited about where this blog may take us!  I hope you’ll join me as I walk through God’s Word and how it perfectly applies to our culture today.
